NRAI elects Impresario's Riyaaz Amlani as President

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) today elected Riyaaz Amlani, Managing Director and CEO of Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt Ltd as President.

He succeeds Samir Kuckreja who stepped down as the President at the NRAI's AGM held here today.

Commenting on the development, Amlani said: The Food Services Industry in India is the third largest service industry after insurance and banking...Instinct tells me that our industry is ripe with possibilities for growth on all fronts - especially where smaller, stand-alone restaurants are concerned."

The sector should be seen as infrastructure service sector instead of luxury sector, he added.

"My aim is to increase the number of members from 1,200 at present to 5,000 in next two years," Amlani said.

Founded in 1982. NRAI is the leading association of the Indian Restaurant Industry representing both independent and chain restaurant owners and operators in India with over 1,200 members in 20 cities.

The association seeks to advocate changes in the laws governing the Indian Restaurant Industry at local, state and centre levels and also provides opportunities to educate members through seminars and knowledge platforms.
