NRHM:IAS officer Shukla seeks exemption from presence in court

A Special CBI court hearing NRHM cases today dismissed pleas by the defence seeking that some other persons including alleged middleman Girish Malik be made accused in the case.

Special Judge S Lal rejected the pleas of the accused after the CBI submitted that the probe in these case was continuing and as and when the complicity of these persons will be detected, they will be chargesheeted.

IAS officer Pradep Shukla, who is an accused in an NRHM case, sought exemption from presence in court.

In one of the cases, former UP minister Babu Singh Kushwaha and other accused appeared in court which posted the matter for April 30.
 

Former MD of UP Small Scales Industries Association Abhay Bajpai, businesmman naresh Grover and two others appeared in the court in another case. The matter was fixed for April 18.

CBI has registered over 17 cases in connection with irregularities in National Rural Health Mission UP in which it has accused former family welfare minister of the state Babu Singh Kushwaha and Shukla among others.
