Security forces in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh have apprehended an active cadre of the NSCN (K) from Kharsang.
The Jairampur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Dao Division apprehended the rebel identified as Chankap Mossang of Phinbero-II village from Kharsang yesterday, an official report said here today.
Acting on specific input about his presence in the area, a joint operation was launched by troops of the Assam Rifles and Arunachal Police which led to his arrest, the report said.
Four extortion letters of NSCN (K) and one extortion letter addressed to a Kharsang petrol pump were recovered from him.
Later, the arrested cadre was handed over to Kharsang Police Station, the release said.
