An octogenarian was killed allegedly by his sons over property dispute in Gehua village here, police said today.

The body of Ram Sagar Misra, who last morning went out to relieve himself, was found in a field with multiple stab injuries late in the evening, SP (Rural) Ramesh Bhartiya said.

A dispute over the victim's five acre land was going on between his three sons and the matter was pending in court, he said.

One of Misra's sons has complained against his two brothers and six others for the murder, Bhartiya said.

All the accused have allegedly fled the village after the incident, the SP said, adding the body has been sent for postmortem and investigations are underway.
