The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a Class I revenue official from Thane for allegedly amassing wealth worth crores of rupees, disproportionate to his known sources of income.
ACB Superintendent of Police Sandeep Karnik told PTI today that an enquiry was conducted into the wealth of former additional collector of Thane collectorate Bapusaheb J Patil (57).
During his service in various departments between 1983 and 2011, he allegedly amassed property worth Rs 11,34,68,060 which was disproportionate to his known sources of income. Hence an offence under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act was regstered against him, after which he was arrested.
