One dead, seven injured as portion of pvt building collapses

Fire service personnel said one person who was rescued died later and that operations are on to extricate two others still trapped under the debris.

Officials suspect non-maintenance of the building over a long period could have led to the collapse and said a notice has been issued to demolish it.

An enquiry would be held to ascertain the reasons behind the collapse, they said.
