One person was killed and another one injured when a jeep carrying country-made liquor overturned near a village in the district, police said today.

The jeep driver lost control over the wheels at around 11.30 PM yesterday, as a result of which the vehicle first hit a road-divider and then turned turtle near Wadivhare village on Mumbai-Agra National Highway, they said.

In the mishap, Hemant Narayan Kullu (40), a Nashik resident, died on the spot, while another youth sustained injuries and was admitted to Nashik Civil Hospital, they said.

Police also said that the liquor was being illegally carried in the vehicle.
