A 68-year-old man was killed and seven others were injured when a brick laden lorry rammed into a roadside shop and autostand at nearby Panoor, police said.
The driver of the overspeeding lorry lost control of the vehicle and hit the bystanders, they said.
One person succumbed to injuries while being rushed to a hospital. The seven injured had been admitted to hospitals, police said adding a search was on for the lorry driver.
