Press Trust of India Kolkata
West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee today urged the opposition to come together and help the government to curb "isolated incidents" in colleges and universities of the state.

Chatterjee, however, criticized the opposition for trying to malign the government on each and every issue regarding the education system of the state instead of helping the government tackle the situation.

"Certain incidents have taken place inside university and college campus. These are isolated incidents, we don't want such incidents to happen. The opposition parties instead of criticizing us should come together in curbing such incidents," he said.

Isolated incidents in 3-4 colleges is being negatively projected as problem of the entire education system, he said.

Listing the achievements of the education department, Chatterjee said the Trinamool Congress government has increased the budget allocation in higher education by leaps and bounds.
