The Orissa High Court today quashed the dismissal order of Bolangir District Central Cooperative Bank (CCB) president Laxman Kumar Meher passed by the local Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies (DRCS) in June.
Justice Biswanath Rath reinstated petitioner Meher in the post to which the Congress leader was elected in March 2015 defeating BJD's Tapaswini Meher by a margin of one vote in the 15-member council.
"My dismissal order was passed in an arbitrary manner and was politically motivated," Meher said after the High Court verdict.
