Oscar Group chief remanded in judicial custody

A special court here hearing chit fund scam cases today remanded arrested chairman of Oscar group of companies Pravash Rout in judicial custody after his second phase of police remand ended.

The court sent him to 14 days of judicial custody after the police did not seek his further remand.

Rout was sent to Choudwar jail here along with Pravat Patnaik, another arrested director of the company.

Pravat was arrested by crime branch sleuths yesterday from Khallikote in Ganjam district. The sleuths had also arrested three other Oscar group directors last week.
