Out of turn promotion to 102 J-K cops

Jammu and Kashmir police has announced out of turn promotion to 102 police personnel while 109 special police officers (SPOs) were absorbed in the force as constables.

"Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar ordered out of turn promotion to 102 lower subordinates, besides absorption of 109 SPOs as constables in Jammu and Kashmir Police," a police spokesman said today.

The promotees include 64 constables, 27 selection grade constables and 11 head constables, he said.

The orders in this regard have been issued by the Police Headquarters on the recommendations of Police Establishment Board (PEB) in recognition to their extra ordinary contribution in maintaining peace and order in the state, the spokesman said.
