Four persons have been arrested here in connection with alleged illegal possession of over 160 tonnes of gypsum, police said today.
The consignment, carried illegally in two trucks, were seized at Sarnayat-Kanta on the Ramdeora-Phalodi road here, they said.
"On a tip-off, police yesterday intercepted the trucks and seized 166 tonnes of gypsum as the drivers of the trucks did not show any legal document for the transportation of the consignment," Superintendent of Police, Vikas Sharma said.
The drivers and attendants of both the trucks have been arrested in this connection, he said, adding the trucks have also been seized.
