Over 47,000 new voters have been included in the voter's list who are eligible to exercise their franchise in the upcoming UP Assembly polls, as per the updated electoral roll in Shamli district.
The total number of voters include about 27,000 women and 20,000 men who will exercise their franchise for the first time, Saharanpur Divisional Commissioner M P Agarwal said.
Shamli, Kairana and Thanabhawan are the three constituencies of Shamli district having their sitting MLAs from Congress, Samajwadi Party and BJP respectively, he said adding all the preparations have been made for the upcoming polls slated early next year.
