Over 65 lakh MT paddy arrives in Haryana

More than 65.37 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in Haryana so far as compared to over 59.32 lakh tonnes (LT) of paddy in the year-ago period, the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said.

Of the total arrival, government agencies procured over 57.88 LT of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 7.49 LT was procured by the millers.

A spokesman said that more than 26.81 LT of paddy has been purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.

Over 19.07 LT purchased by Hafed, over 6.33 LT by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation, over 5.49 LT by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation and 18,073 tonnes have been bought by the Food Corporation of India.
 

More than 14.44 LT paddy arrived in mandis of Karnal, 11.86 LT in Kurukshetra, 8.27 LT in Kaithal and over 7.81 LT in Ambala.
