Pak army says will foil acts of 'hostile agencies'

The Pakistan Army today said that it was determined to foil the work of "hostile" spy agencies engaged in fomenting instability in the country but made no reference to any other nation.

The army said apart from reviewing progress of ongoing counter-terrorism operations, activities of "hostile intelligence agencies inside Pakistan and the response thereof" were also discussed at the Corps Commanders' Conference chaired by army chief General Raheel Sharif at the army headquarters.

"It was resolved to take all measures to block hostile acts against Pakistan, which can undermine our security and growth," the army said in a statement.

The meeting reviewed of professional matters, internal and external security situation including the ongoing operations against terrorists in North Waziristan and rest of the country.
 

No country was mentioned in the statement but usually such references point to India or Afghanistan.
