A team of the High Level Committee on Status of Women today met Nagaland government officials to know the comprehensive status of women in the state.
The seven-member team is led by Dr Pam Rajput, chairperson of the Committee.
In her address, Rajput stressed on skill development for women and the state labour department could take up skill welfare schemes.

She encouraged officers of related departments to come up with employment for women and suggested that the government should have state policy on women as they have specific role.
Chief Secretary C J Ponraj, who was present in the meeting, said Nagaland is comparatively ahead of many other states so far as women's status was concerned.
In terms of education or employment, there is no gender bias in the state, he said, adding absence of women in political arena needs to be addressed.
