Panic in village after carcasses of eight goats found

: Panic gripped a village on the city outskirts after residents found eight goats killed allegedly by a leopard early this morning.

Police said a villager rearing goats in Kuppanur had locked nearly 100 of them in a shed last night. On hearing the bleating of goats he rushed there and found two goats and six lambs dead, with pug marks around, they said.

Forest officials, on information, visited the area, they said.
