A petitioner who had filed a private complaint seeking a CBI inquiry against Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, approached the police here today, seeking protection for him and his family members.

Petitioner Y Balaji Vadera, a practicing advocate in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, had filed a complaint against TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), the party's Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao and Medak MP M Vijayashanti, seeking a CBI probe, alleging that they had amassed wealth through extortion.

Based on his complaint, on April 25, a special CBI court had directed the CBI to probe charges against the TRS chief and others.

"They (KCR and others) are highly influential and rich political personalities. I have been receiving threatening calls and I feel that they may harm me and members of my family," Balaji submitted in a letter addressed to Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police B Prasada Rao.

Balaji said that there is a danger to his life and requested the DGP to provide police protection to him and his family.
