The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court today dismissed a PIL filed by a Homeopathy practitioner seeking to rechristen Allopathy medical system as Drug system and Allopathy medical science as Drug Science.
The petitioner submitted that many Allopathic medicines which were effective during introduction had been banned due to side effects now.
Hence allopathy system had to be termed only as drug system and its ingredients ought to be called as drugs and all the allopathy related science ought to be called as drug science.
Dismissing the petition, Justice V Ramasubramanian and Justice V M Velumani directed the petitioner to approach the concerned forum and get the relief desired by him.
