PM Sharif tells ministers to tackle Pak energy crisis

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today directed his ministers to take all necessary steps for overcoming the acute energy crisis being faced by the country.

The Prime Minister was briefed that through implementation of an effective monitoring and checking system, line losses have been reduced.

He had chaired a high level meeting to review the energy situation at Prime Minister's House this evening.

The Prime Minister directed that necessary steps must be taken so that the issue of circular debt does not arise again.

He was informed that LNG import shall start from next year which would help in reducing gas load shedding in the country.
 

Sharif was told that prices for LNG imports are being negotiated in a transparent manner and efforts are on to make cheaper LNG available for local consumers.
