Police lathicharge SP workers

Samajwadi Party workers were today lathicharged after they tried blocking the railway tracks while protesting against the removal of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's posters in Gujarat.

Railway Protection Force officers said SP workers, led by district president Mohsin, today attempted to block the railway traffic by squatting on the track at a railway crossing near the general manger's office.

The workers were protesting against removal of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's posters in Gujarat earlier this week. They were lathicharged by the RPF personnel when they refused to stop.

The officials said penal action would be taken against the demonstrators.
