Police officer shot dead while chasing criminal in UP

A Station House Officer (SHO) of police was shot dead today allegedly by a criminal during a chase in busy Kotwali area here.

According to Superintendent of Police Deepak Yadav, "SHO Raj Kumar Singh was shot at by a criminal Kallu Kori while being chased by the officer in Lakula Bagh Rustam area."

Singh was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead, the SP said, adding that Kori managed to escape from the spot.
