Police officer suspended for campaigning for Congress

A junior police officer was today suspended for allegedly violating election code of conduct and also service rules by campaigning for a political party.

B Raju, a Sub-Inspector attached to Kataram Police Station here, has been suspended by Karimnagar Range DIG, District Collector M Veerabrahmaiah said in a release here.

Raju allegedly participated in an election campaign of Congress on March 11 asked the people to vote for the party. This was against the election code and also service rules, it added.
