Police recover arms, ammunition from pond

A huge cache of arms and ammunition was today recovered by the police from a pond in village Sidhwan Khurd, 25 km from here.

The seizure included 3 hand grenades, 4 magazines of AK-47 rifle, 763 cartridges, 410 detonators and 6 kg explosives, SSP Ravcharn Singh Brar said.

A bomb disposal squad has been asked to defuse the explosives that were packed in a plastic bag, he said.
