An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and a constable were suspended by the Superintendent of Police (SP) for disrespecting an unidentified body, the police said here today.

The incident took place three days ago when an unidentified body was dumped by the two policemen ASI Lalji Kaurav and constable Jitendra Singh Thakur in the Chapara area, after which, dogs ate it, the police said.

Despite taking money from the local panchayat for burying the body after postmortem at a designated place, they just dumped it behind the mortuary and covered it with stones.
