Pondy sets up centre for addressing women's grievances

The Puducherry goverment's Women and Child Development Department has set up a 'Poorna Shakthi Kendra,' a forum for converging various schemes and programmes meant for women at various levels.

Welfare Minister M Kandasamy declared open the Kendra which is aimed at enabling women at various levels to know about their rights and also to sensistise them on various government sponsored welfare schemes for them, among others, a department release said.

All issues relating to health, education and nutritional needs of women at the village level would also be tackled through the centres in rural areas established under 'Poorna Shakthi Kendra,' the release said.
