Poppy straw seized, two held

Police today arrested two drug peddlers in south Kashmir's Pulwama district and allegedly seized five kgs of a banned substance from their possession.

Nazir Ahmad Baigal and Mohammad Rafiq Wango, both residents of Bemina, were arrested while they were transporting illicit poppy straw in a load carrier at Konibal area of Awantipora, a police spokesman said.

A case under NDPS Act has been registered against the duo, he said.
