Power engineer dies

A senior engineer of state power utility who had allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison, died here today, police said.

Balbir Singh, a Deputy Chief Engineer posted at border zone for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), had yesterday attempted to commit suicide and was admitted to a private hospital where his condition was stated to be critical, they said.

Singh had been depressed for the last few days.
