A 25-year-old pregnant woman, was allegedly thrashed by her in-laws for dowry following which she suffered a miscarriage, police said today.
According to a complaint filed, the victim, hailing from Dhamora village, was beaten yesterday by her in-laws, who were demanding Rs 1 lakh as dowry, they said.
The victim, married to one Rajiv for a year, managed to escape from her husband's house and reached her parents' place.
A complaint has been lodged by the victim's father against four persons including the victim's husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law and another relative.
Investigation is underway, District police chief Sanjeev Tyagi said.
