Prez, VP grace CISF 'At Home'

President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice-President Hamid Ansari today visited the CISF headquarters for the 'At Home' ceremony of the paramilitary on the eve of its Raising Day here.

The President was introduced to the senior officials of the force by Director General Rajiv as he spent close to 30 minutes at the force's headquarters here.

The about 1.40-lakh personnel central force is tasked with the important duty to guard the country's civil airports and sensitive installations in defence, nuclear and aerospace domains.

A few retired DGs of the force and other senior officials were also present during the event which has been hosted for the first time by the force.
 

The force was raised in 1969.

Ministers of State for Home M Ramachandran and R P N Singh were also present during the occasion.
