about 1500 fishermen today took a "boat rally" From Thengai Pattinam coastal villageto Kanyakumari protesting against the proposed Enayam International Container Transshipment Terminal.
The fishermen in about 500 boats wanted the Centre to drop the project as they feared that 20,000 families would be adversely affected if it was started.
The fishermen association leaders said they were facing possible threat of eviction in the name of land acquisition for the project in and around Enayam village.
