A journalist and professor who fronted a radio program in an indigenous community in southern Mexico was shot dead, the national ombudsman said Friday.
Telesforo Santiago Enriquez became the fourth journalist murdered in Mexico this year.
"On the radio waves, Santiago Enriquez expressed his analysis and criticism of the government and recently publicly denounced the municipal authorities for alleged diversion of resources," the National Human Rights Commission said in a statement.
