Rains bring little relief to UP

The maximum temperature dipped a little in parts of Uttar Pradesh due to scattered rains and thundershowers even as Jhansi sizzled under the searing sun recording a high of 44.7 degrees Celsius.

Khalilabad in Sant Kabir Nagar district received 3 cms of rains and Gorakhpur gauged 2 cms of precipitation till 8:30 AM, the MeT department said.

The mercury hovered below the normal level in Gorakhpur, Faizabad Lucknow and Moradabad divisions. However, it rose in Allahabad division and changed a little in the remaining places, the weatherman said.

The MeT office predicted rains and thundershowers at isolated places in the state tomorrow.
