The MeT department on Tuesday forecast light to moderate rain in most parts of south Bengal from Friday till Sunday.
An official of the Regional Meteorological Centre here said the minimum temperatures are likely to rise by two to three degrees Celsius over the next two days from Wednesday.
The minimum temperatures are likely to dip again from Monday following a spell of rain, he said.
Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, the official said.
The Himalayan town of Darjeeling recorded the day's lowest temperature in West Bengal at 3 degrees Celsius, while Coochbehar was the coldest in the plains at 7.7 degrees Celsius.
Siliguri (7.8), Panagarh (8), Purulia (8) and Sriniketan (8.2) were among places that recorded low minimum temperatures in the state.
