Raj Home Min warns officials of low appearance of prisoners in

Saying that Hanumangarh and Bikaner in the state have lowest jailbirds appearance in the courts, Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria today warned the police officers in the districts that they will be "strictly dealt" if the court appearances of the prisoners is below 75 per cent.

We have directed police officials in Hanumangarh and Bikaner districts to progress as court appearance of prisoners is 28 and 38 per cent respectively, Kataria said while chairing a monthly review meeting of the Jail Department.

He said the vacant posts would be filled at the earliest and also assured to revise the pay scale of the employees of the Jail Department.
 

Kataria directed to expedite the construction work of jails and barracks to solve problems faced by the prisoners.

The minister urged the officials to shift prisoners to new jails and barracks constructed in Kishangarh Bas, Jhunjhunu, Pratapgarh, Bundi, Deeg, Nohar, Kotputli and Balotara, apart from seeking proposals for further expansion and renovation of jails and barracks in Nagaur, Bharatpur, Kota, Udaipur and Jaipur division.
