A head constable of Rajasthan Police was on Thursday arrested while taking a bribe of Rs 8,000 in the state's Jhunjhunu district, an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officer said.
Jaidayal Meghwal posted at Mandawa Police Station had demanded Rs 12,000 as a monthly bribe from the complainant for not seizing his vehicle involved in a traffic offence, ACB inspector Shabbir Khan said.
The deal was fixed at Rs 10,000.
The accused had accepted Rs 2,000 earlier and was caught red-handed while taking the remaining amount.
A case was registered against the head constable under sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, he said.
