Despite running a disease surveillance programme, Rajasthan has reported 25 deaths due to swine flu in the year so far.
Of the total samples taken for tests, 49 patients had been found swine flu positive since January 2014 in the state, a senior official of the Medical and Health Department said quoting a state medical report.
So far, H1N1 has claimed 25 lives in the state which include one death in August, he said.
High humidity during rainy season was a major reason for the spread of H1N1 virus, he said.
In September, out of the 19 samples taken for test, one patient was found positive, he added.
A comparative study on this subject is being worked out district-wise, he said.
Talking about the surveillance programme, the official said Integrated Disease Surveillance programme was effectively being extended in the entire state, specially during monsoon season, as a preventive measure to control the spread of vector due to high humidity or water accumulation.
