Raju discusses aviation sector with ICAO chief

Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi today held discussions with ICAO Chief Benard Aliu on various issues pertaining to India.

Aliu is on a three-day visit to India ahead of ICAO's 39th Assembly next month.

In a tweet, Raju said he had a "very useful" meeting with Aliu on "furthering India's interests in global aviation sector".

Discussions are believed to have been around aviation safety, security and capacity building, among other issues.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha and Civil Aviation Secretary R N Choubey.

India is one of the earliest members of ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) since it was set up in 1947.
