Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today announced a compensation amount of Rs 1 lakh for the families of registered workers in case of their accidental deaths.
Rawat said they will be paid Rs 50,000 in case of natural death and Rs 51,000 would be provided to them for their daughter's marriage, according to an official statement.
The CM made these announcements while addressing a function organised by the labour department at Roorke in Haridwar district.
Rawat said the government will very soon reserve seats in IIT and polytechnic colleges for children of registered workers.
