Red sanders smuggler remanded in police custody

Siddahout Magistrate Hateef Ahammed today remanded Mukes Badani, an alleged international red sanders smuggler, in five-day police custody.
The special anti-smuggling task force had arrested Badani on May 16 at Mangali village in Hissar district of Haryana and seized 6.6 tons of red sanders logs worth Rs 14 crore from him.
He was first lodged in judicial custody; police had sought his custody for the purpose of interrogation.
