Refined soya oil prices were trading up by 0.29 per cent to Rs 650.50 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions amid pick up in domestic demand at spot markets and restricted supplies from producing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in September went up by Rs 1.85, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 650.50 per 10 kg with an open interest of 57,240 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in August edged up by 5 paise, or 0.01 per cent, to Rs 639.20 per 10 kg in 22,020 lots.

Analysts said, fresh positions created by traders after demand picked up in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly influenced refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
