Refined soya oil prices edged up by 0.19 per cent to Rs 772.50 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators raised bets, tracking a firm trend at the spot market on pick-up in demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in May rose by Rs 1.50, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 772.50 per 10 kg with an open interest of 53,770 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in June edged up by 30 paise, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 779.50 per 10 kg in 23,250 lots.

Analysts said widening of positions by traders following a rise in demand in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing belts influenced refined soya oil futures.
