Supported by improved domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing belts, refined soya oil prices edged up by 0.24 per cent to Rs 577.30 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh position.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in April edged up by Rs 1.40, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 577.30 per 10 kg with an open interest of 79,265 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in May contract traded higher by Rs 1.05, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 556.30 per 10 kg in 1,21,315 lots.
Market analysts said besides pick up in demand in the spot market, tight supplies from producing belts led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
