"When the new generation uphold their dream, the scopes to carry forward democracy becomes brighter," Khurshid said.
The Indian minister said everyone should be respectful to youngsters dreams as he appreciated the cause that rallied thousands of youths.
Khurshid was the second high profile foreigner in the last two days to comment on the Shahbagh protest. Visiting Bhutanese King two days ago praised the youths for their campaign.
Meanwhile, apparently shifting from its traditional policy of refraining from commenting on Bangladesh's "internal issues", India earlier this week expressed its indirect but vocal support for the Bangladeshi government's initiatives to put the high-profile war crimes suspects of 1971 Liberation War on trial.
India, however, expressed its voiced support for the war crimes trial under the initiative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's ruling Awami League.
"India will never back those who were against Bangladesh's independence. What I am informing you is not only my word but also the statements of the Indian President and the Prime Minister," Acting Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Sandeep Chakravorty had told a victory day celebration function.
