NCB officer Rohit Katiyar has been decorated with the President's police medal for meritorious service, on the eve of the Republic Day.
He is the lone Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer to get the prestigious medal this time.
A 1995-batch officer of the CISF, Katiyar has won the Prime Minister's police medal for saving life in 2008 for saving six people who accidentally fell inside a tunnel of the Tehri dam project in Uttarakhand.

The officer has headed NCB zonal offices in the north Indian states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa and Maharashtra in the past.
The NCB is the national agency under the Union home ministry to coordinate efforts of all enforcement and police agencies against the narcotics menace.
