Revenue officer convicted in bribery case by T'gana ACB court

a special anti-corruption bureau (ACB) court in Karimnagar today sentenced a village revenue officer to two years rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case.
Judge P Bhaskara Rao while pronouncing Ambir Narsimha Rao (58) guilty of accepting illegal gratification also imposed a fine of Rs 2,500 on him.
The accused was caught by the ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 on May 6, 2011 from a farmer at his office in Rameshwarapalli.

According to the prosecution, Rao, had demanded Rs 5,000 from the complainant for mutation of a piece of agricultural land in the name of his sister.
The farmer had approached the ACB with his complaint following which a trap was laid and Rao arrested.
