RIL shares up 2 pc, m-cap soars Rs 12,749 cr post Q1 earnings

Shares of Reliance Industries rose by 2 per cent today, adding Rs 12,749.41 crore to its market valuation, after the company reported its highest ever quarterly net profit.
The blue-chip scrip ended the day at Rs 1,149.70, up 1.78 per cent on the BSE. During the day, it gained 2.47 per cent to Rs 1,157.55 -- its all-time high.
On the NSE, shares of the company went up by 1.96 per cent to close at Rs 1,152.
The company's market valuation soared Rs 12,749.41 crore to Rs 7,28,508.41 crore.
On the equity volume front, 7.13 lakh shares of the company were traded on the BSE and over one crore shares changed hands on the NSE, during the day.
Consolidated net profit of Rs 9,459 crore, or Rs 16 per share, in April-June, was 17.9 per cent higher than Rs 8,021 crore, or Rs 13.5 a share, in the same period of the previous fiscal, the oil-to-telecom conglomerate said in a statement on Friday.
Revenue was up by 56.5 per cent at Rs 141,699 crore.
