RSPB, UP enter final of Senior National Men's hockey

Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) defeated Air India Sports Promotion Board (AISPB) 6-4, while Uttar Pradesh Hockey got the better of Hockey Gangpur, Odisha 3-0 here today to set up a clash in the final of the fifth senior National Hockey Championship 2015 (Men) Divison A.

AISPB will face Hockey Gangpur, Odisha in the third-fourth place classification match.

In the first semifinal of the day, AISPB started the proceedings when Gaganpreet Singh converted a penalty corner in the 17th minute.

RSPB struck back soon with two field goals in the 28th and 30ths minute through Malak Singh and Yuvraj Walmiki to take a 2-1 lead.
 

Five minutes into the second half, Yuvraj scored again to extend RSPB's lead.

AISPB reduced the margin in the 40th minute when Sameer Dad converted a penalty corner.

Amit Rohidas made it 4-2 for RSPB when he successufully converted a penalty stroke in the 44th minute before Vikram Pillay scored a field goal for AISPB to pull one back.

Arjun Halappa then converted a penalty stroke in the 47th minute for AISPB to level the scores.

But Amit Rohidas converted a penalty corner in 52nd minute before Yuvraj registered his hat-trick with yet another field strike in the 54th minute to register the win for RSPB.

In the second semifinal of the day, Sunil Yadav (7th, 32nd, 44th minute) scored a hat-trick to guive UP to a comfortable 3-0 win over Hockey Gangpur, Odisha.
