Amid a raging debate on 'triple talaq', RSS today said it was opposed to any injustice on the basis of gender.

"Muslim women have raised this (triple talaq) issue... Sangh believes that there should not be any injustice on the basis of gender.. Muslim women need to get justice," Prabhu Narain, Sanghchalak of 'Avadh Prant' of RSS, told reporters here.

For the first time in India's constitutional history, the Centre had opposed in the Supreme Court the practice of triple talaq, 'nikah halala' and polygamy among Muslims and favoured a relook on grounds like gender equality and secularism.

The Centre's stand has created ripples in the country with a section of minority groups and political leaders objecting to it.

To a question on building Ram temple in Ayodhya, Narain said Sangh had never led the Ram temple campaign nor will it do so in future.

"This campaign is run by people and saints...If they start, we we will help them," he said.
